ASALI ECHOLS is a filmmaker and film editor, working in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. She edited the award-winning documentaries, 2e: Twice Exceptional (2015) and Navajo Math Circles (2016). Other credits include the feature documentaries, 4 Wheel Bob (2016); Counting From Infinity (2015); Taking the Long View: The Life of Shiing-Shen Chern (2011); 2e2: Teaching the Twice Exceptional (upcoming); and Carol (upcoming). She helped produce the Simons Foundation's 32-part oral history series Science Lives.

In addition to filmmaking, Asali has worked in the world of live theatre in the Bay Area as a producer, actress, and stage manager. She holds a BA in Film Studies from UC Berkeley, where she served as a teaching assistant for numerous film courses. She is currently completing an MFA in Cinema at San Francisco State University. She has worked at Zala Films in all aspects of development, production, post-production and distribution since 2009.
